Lacie, Recreation Therapist Director
Lacie graduated from Brock University in 2014 with an Honours degree in Community Recreation. In 2011, she graduated from Mohawk College with a diploma in Therapeutic Recreation. Her passion supporting adults with disabilities stems from her relationship with her older sister whom is diagnosed with multiple disabilities. Lacie has worked for several local non-profits; supporting people with disabilities within her local community performing various roles. Lacie has over 25 years of experience supporting adults with disabilities in their recreation pursuits. She brings passion, expertise, and positive energy to the Above and Beyond Team.
Elise, EA and PSW
Elise is the newest member of the Above and Beyond team. She is an educated Primary Care Paramedic. Her experience as a paramedic provides our team with an advanced knowledge of health and wellbeing. As well, Elise was employed as an Educational Assistant and Emergency Instructor within the Catholic school board for many years. Elise is a great fit for our team as she was raised providing care to her younger sister who has complex disabilities. Elise’s sister is a new student at our program and it is a joy to watch the two sisters interact at Above and Beyond.
Shirley, Director
Shirley is a caregiver and mother to a daughter diagnosed with multiple disabilities. Shirley has over 38 years of hands-on experience supporting people with disabilities in various settings. Shirley is an asset to the Above and Beyond team as she brings the parents perspective to the program; assuring we best meet the needs of the participants and their families. Shirley is creative, outgoing, and a champion to Above and Beyond’s team.
